Shishu Arogya Samrakshana Yojane
(We Take Care of School Children’s Medical Needs)
Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama is implementing a project for conducting medical examination of School children in Government primary schools including Anganavadies. During the first year we are Examining 50,000 children in our Drishtidana Sevayagna project area of 150 Kms. around Bangalore.
The working team will comprise of :
- Paediatrician
- Refractionist
- Ophthalmologist
- Volunteers
- Dentist
- Driver with a vehicle
- Nurse
After the medical examination, the students will be presented with a small, useful booklet on ethical & moral education and a few Biscuits. The records will be computerised and a copy of the report will be given to the student through the Headmaster of the educational institution.
We intend to follow-up this medical examination with proper medical and surgical treatment, including hospitalisation when required, for poor children who require further medical attention.
We have a joint project with M.S. Ramaiah Medical College Hospital. The hospital authorities will admit the patients and provide free treatment (within certain limits).
Budgeted expenditure for this Shishu Arogya Samrakshna Project ‘Viveka Sharada’ Is Rupees Seven Lakhs for the medical examination of 50,000 school children during the year 2005-06.
This includes the cost of treatment of children who require further Medical / Surgical care at the hospital.
